INVITATION
In a joint organization of TECNICELPA (Portuguese Association of the Technicians of the Pulp and Paper Industry) and RIADICYP (IberoAmerican Network of Teaching and Research on Pulp and Paper) the XXI TECNICELPA Conference and Exhibition / VI Iberoamerican Congress on Pulp and Paper Research - CIADICYP 2010 - will be held between 12 and 15 October, 2010, in the Convention Centre of the International Fair of Lisbon (FIL, Parque das Nações), Portugal.
Both institutions (TECNICELPA and RIADICYP) have their regular meetings, approximately every two years, in different cities of Portugal and Iberoamerican countries, respectively. For the year 2010, TECNICELPA and RIADICYP decided to combine these events, with the objective of increasing both interest and the number of participants: Scientists, Papermakers, Technicians, Manufacturers and Suppliers from all over the world working in the Forestry, Pulp and Paper fields.
In a period of profound change and problems on a global scale, the industries in the forestry field, including the pulp and paper industry, are also facing great uncertainty and enormous challenges. This new and somehow unexpected reality requires approaches different from those prevailing until now, as well as changes in many distinct aspects, including those of a scientific and technological nature. In this scenario the XXI TECNICELPA Conference and Exhibition / VI Iberoamerican Congress on Pulp and Paper Research - CIADICYP 2010 will be devoted to the
New Paradigms in the Pulp and Paper Industry
addressing the following specific topics:
Other subjects, such as Recycling or Industrial Practices, will be included in the different main topics mentioned above according to the content of the work.
The official languages of the conference are English, Portuguese and Spanish and the General Programme includes invited plenary lectures, oral presentations, poster sessions and a technical visit. In addition to a Welcome Reception and a Conference Banquet, an attractive Social Programme, in one of the most beautiful capitals of Europe, is also available to provide enjoyable moments for the accompanying persons.
Recognition will be made for the best paper and poster. Additionally, the traditional “TECNICELPA Prize", created in order to stimulate the production of technical and scientific works carried out in Portugal (Companies, Universities or Research Institutes) by Portuguese or foreign authors working in the forestry, pulp and paper fields, is maintained.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the XXI TECNICELPA Conference and Exhibition / VI CIADICYP 2010 we have the honour to invite all Scientists, Papermakers, Technicians, Manufacturers and Suppliers who work directly or indirectly in the Forestry, Pulp and Paper fields to participate in this event. The Authors, Exhibitors and Sponsors have a dedicated section in this website.
It is certainly an event not to be missed, considering the relevance of the conference and the presence of leading scientists from Europe and North- and South-America as well as important companies in the sector. A visit to one of the largest and most modern mills in the world for printing and writing uncoated woodfree papers is included in the conference programme - the new paper mill of Portucel Soporcel group, located in Setúbal.
