El Programa Científico incluye una ceremonia de apertura, tres conferencias plenarias invitadas, 2  presentaciones invitadas (keynote lectures), presentaciones orales y sesiones de posters, y una ceremonia de cierre.  Las presentaciones orales serán divididas en dos sesiones paralelas. El programa incluye una visita a una de las más grandes y más modernas fábricas del mundo de papel de impresión y escritura - una nueva fábrica de papel del grupo Portucel Soporcel, en Setúbal.
